- Prominent candidates in the third phase of the elections include Union Home Minister Amit Shah seeking Gandhinagar. re-election in Gujarat and Union ministers Jyotiraditya Scindia, Mansukh Mandaviya and Pralhad Joshi are contesting from different constituencies.
- This phase has significant implications for the political landscape, especially in Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh, with high-profile candidates and family legacies at stake.
- Maharashtra’s Baramat, considered the stronghold of the Pawar family, will see a major contest between NCP founder Sharad Pawar’s daughter Supriya Sule and Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar’s wife Sunetra Pawar.
- The family of late Mulayam Singh Yadav is also prominent at this stage as three members are in the fray. Akhilesh Yadav’s wife Dimple Yadav, Akshay Yadav and Aditya Yadav are vying for seats in Uttar Pradesh.

Which states will go to polls in the third phase of Lok Sabha elections?
A total of 1,351 candidates are in the fray from those 93 constituencies and 17.24 million people, including 8.39 million women, are eligible to vote.
States and Union Territories where elections will be held at this stage are Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu, Goa, Gujarat, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal . The BJP won the Surat seat unopposed.
In the second phase, which went to polls on April 26, 88 constituencies in 12 states and union territories went to polls.
