Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati on Tuesday removed her nephew Akash as political heir apparent and party national coordinator, saying he must attain “maturity” before assuming those roles.

In a series of X editions, Mayawati said, “It is known that BSP is not only a party but also a movement of self-respect and self-dignity of Baba Saheb Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar and social change for which Shri. Kanshi Ram ji and I have dedicated our entire life and also a new generation ready to give it a boost

“In line with the promotion of others in the party, I have announced Shri Akash Anand as the national coordinator and his. successor, but in the best interest of the party and the movement, he will be removed from both these important responsibilities until he reaches full maturity,” she added.

She further announced that his father, Anand Kumar, will continue in his role in the party

On December 10 last year, She announced 28-year-old Mr.Anand as her successor, who completed an MBA in London, and was given the national task of the coordinator.

Mr. Akash was in the news recently when a case was registered against him for violating model rules in Sitapur, Uttar Pradesh. The action came after the district administration came to know about Anand’s speech at an election rally comparing the BJP government in the state to the Taliban.
