(Bloomberg) –Saudi King Salman the King of Arabia Salman Bin Abdulaziz is suffering from pneumonia and receiving antibiotics at the Al Salam Palace in Jeddah, the state-run Saudi Press Agency reported.
The agency said earlier on Sunday that the 88-year-old monarch had a high fever and joint pains. He underwent medical tests at the Al Salam Palace Royal Clinic.
He was admitted in April and later released after a routine check-up, SPA said at the time.
King Salman has led the world’s largest oil exporter since 2015. His son, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, handles most of the day-to-day affairs in Saudi Arabia.
